50!!!!

This is a momentous occasion... This is my 50th post! I think I should celebrate. I'm just not sure how.

At the moment, I'm watching The Fugitive, which, incidentally, was filmed (at least partially) at Fontana Dam. Since I'm going there next week, I figure that it will be good to catch up on the local history and exciting events. Not only that, but it's a fairly decent movie, and I needed something to distract me from homework.

Speaking of homework, I have way more to do right now than I ever have had before. It seems like I just got in 4 classes that all are big load/heavy study types. It sucks. This is coming up on the 2nd week of school, and I'm slated for my 2nd test, 4th and 5th quizzes, and 4th and 5th extensive homework turn-in assignments. And I've got a lot of reading to catch up on. The biggest problem with all of that is that I just haven't found my grove for studying yet. Come to think of it, I never found it last semester.

AND.... I rode today. For the first time in almost a week. I felt terrible. I don't think that I've ever felt so bad on the bike. I couldn't have kept up with one of my normal rest days. It sucks being slow. I can't believe it. Hopefully I'll get some legs under me before next weekend.

Later guys.

Sick

Being sick SUCKS! I am all kinds of sore in pretty much every area of my body. Even my scalp hurts. I keep alternating between being absolutely freezing and sweating from being so hot. I keep ALMOST coughing too. It's kinda a "IreallyfeellikecoughingbutI'mnottotallyneedingtosoI'mjustgoingtoexhaleforcefully." So yeah, stay away from being sick.

The worst part is that I can't ride my bike. My beautiful new S-Works is sitting unridden, wishing for some trail time.

Enjoy your riding children.

I don't actually have anything to write about right now... but I'm gonna post anyway.

New bikes are awesome. I just got mine, and although I've only gotten to ride it once, I am totally pumped. The new bike, combined with some new sponsors and a bad ass training plan, are all coming together to form what is looking like a killer year of racing.

I'm gonna be trying out some road racing this spring with the school, and hopefully will get to travel to CO to try my hand at the national championships. People keep trying to convince me that I'm a roadie, and while I definitely don't think so, I'm willing to put out some effort and see what I can do with some slicks. I think that the first mountain bike race that I'm gonna get to do is 12 hours of Tsali which I'm pumped about already.

But yeah, training is going well, I've been doing muscle tension intervals, which are new to me, but seem like a good idea for building up some leg power. Hopefully. I'm totally ready to be done with them though...

And finally, it's been pretty stupidly cold here recently. I mean, I know it doesn't have anything on people who are dumb enough to live where it gets really cold, but it's cold for me. Yeah. And I think I'm gonna be riding something totally new tomorrow, which I am stoked about. Or maybe we'll go down to Clemson, which would be cool too...

Welp, I've been hanging out a lot recently. Riding a lot too. Did a little group ride today, went up Twin Falls over to Pinnett and down black. It was good times. I don't remember the last time I chilled that much on a group ride... I got hardcore dropped on every climb. Good times.

Speaking of good times, I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new baby. I ordered him/her/it earlier this week, and there is a slight chance that it will be here tomorrow and I will get to build it. Although probably not. It's gonna be sick when I do get it though. Once I get it built, I should have some idea of its gender, and then will be able to name it based on that.

And oh yeah, baker Bill just bought a new used stumpy. Now he's big time. I can't wait to hear about this one.

So yeah, now I have to go watch the Gators beat the Sooners. They just scored. It's about time. Go Tim. We seem to be getting some momentum.

Finally, the team is having a fund raiser in a couple of days... its a party style thing, $10 cover, good fun, come check it out. I don't actually have any details, mostly because it hasn't been set up yet, but stay tuned for updates.

I've had some demand recently for a new blog entry (and by "some demand" I mean that I was having a conversation with a couple of people about blogs and I said that I hadn't blogged in a while and they agreed with me), so here goes.

I rode a lot last week. It was cool. Now I have a legit training plan and will be riding even more. That's all I'm gonna say about that.

I've also been enjoying break a whole lot. I've missed just being able to waste time during the day not doing anything. I've even been playing some video games, so you know that's something.

The one downside to break is that the bakery is also closed for a couple of weeks. I was bummed out about that since I like their food and their company. I mean, I guess I can still have pretty much the same company (except for the successive liberal/conservative cliques that share the same tables at the bakery at separate times) while the bakery is closed, so mostly I am just missing the food.

I guess missing the food is a good thing since I am trying to lose some poundage, and the bakery is not conducive to doing so. In fact, I largely blame the bakery for getting me into this predicament.

In order to do even more work than I would while riding, the team is doing team workouts. Like in the gym. It's a very funny sight watching a bunch of cyclists trying to lift some weights and pretend that we are all strong and whatnot. You can tell that we are not all that by looking at the weight rack and seeing all of the lightest dumbbells constantly in use while the heavier ones go unused.

And my final note for the day is... I just got something awesome. It should be here soon... I'm pumped.
